“Smith is having big dreams. Stone-Age songs, ocean waves and rabbit pie. In a Tesco car park. It’s getting a bit obsessive. Are they nuts? Or is something afoot? Through an increasingly bizarre and comic course of therapy, Smith desperately seeks the truth. Come and find out what really happens when you don’t take back your shopping trolley. Or at the very least forgive. Stargaze Theatre Cornwall return after their sell-out show Boy in a Bottle with another mischievous take on time and space. This energetic company of big characters will leave you guessing. Until they don’t.”

Review by Richard Lambert, 4 Stars

This was rather fun! A youth theatre group of 11 who can actually act! Their infectious energy crosses the footlights and their story, slightly absurd, maintains the interest and entertainment for the 50 minute show.

Caveman meets modern man – with many cross-references of our society today and how we have evolved. Or have we really? My favourite line was “why would you listen to a Conservative MPs proclamation of their eco ideologies when he’s basically a neanderthal in a blue suit”.

Our modern-day eco-warrior hero has to agree to therapy sessions to appease his wife. The therapy sessions are hilarious and nice little vignettes. Possibly out of context is that this eco-warrior wants to license his land for rabbit farming and he buys a rifle to kill the rabbits. Not sure that made sense but hey ho, the play is called “AM I NUTS!” which possibly allows free reign to put anything into the play.

With a base costume of caveman gear, with additional costumes added and removed for the many varied characters, this is Fringe at it’s best. Lots of good creative ideas and loadsa fun.

If this group are indicative of our future actors then we’re in safe hands!
