Cirque du Temps recreates famous aerial circus acts bringing them back to life in this fun, imaginative, skillful circus show. One young soul is plucked from the crowd and reignites the circus. Each act uses its performance to tempt the new recruit to run away and join the circus… forever.
You will meet Muriel Gaunt – contortionist, Daisy and Violet Hilton – conjoined twins, Mabel Stark – tiger tamer and Annette Kellerman – high diver, who will thrill you with acts full of pathos, laughter and a hint of menace. Bring your children along, the circus is in town and looking for souls.

This all female troupe of performers give you everything you’d expect to see: aerial hoop, trapeze bar, corde de ligne, straps, pole dance, along with a young girl who watches on stage with amazement. The girl also performs a duet aerial. The strength, skill and flexibility of the performers was incredible.
It’s well put together for a series of mainly solo acts. The lighting is likely from the best equipped venue at the Vaults Festival (Flair Ground) and there are some great music tracks. Some, but not all, of the transitions between the acts were slick as the apparatus was clipped in or unhooked from the central pulley. I did hope that the one attachment in the ceiling was up to the task of coping with the writhing and jerking it was constantly getting and thankfully while I was there everything stayed in the air.
The outstanding act was the pair on the aerial hoop. How they managed to avoid each other while counter-balancing their intricate moves was truly marvellous.
The performers are all competent and impressive. The costumes sexy without straying too far from keeping this a family show. I did marvel that the costumes didn’t malfunction considering what they went through.
