“Montreal’s distinguished circus company present a show for teenagers and adults alike. Exasperated of waiting for the biggest international theatre to call, two clowns decide to accept the unthinkable contract… a children’s birthday party! Join the duo for world-class juggling and acrobatics on their poignant quest for fame. An extraordinary physical performance blending contemporary clowning with theatre and circus, Kombini is as aesthetically beautiful as it is heart-warming and fun. A truly unique theatrical circus experience like no other!”

More classic mime than slapstick comedy this is a clown show. The 2 x Clowns are very personable, sweet and cute. The taller clown very handsome. Unusual for Clowns.

More the pace of a canal boat than a steam train this beautiful piece is a study in mime and facial expressions. With some set pieces, a telephone and a clock, there is a pining for love story. A lot of popcorn and balloons, and some hand balancing acrobatics along the way.

The telephone and clock are pin-spotted from the front but not consistently so for all the telephone rings. Unfortunately the smaller clown kept putting just part of his head in the telephone light making for some very odd looks across his face.

With everything on the Fringe being fast and furious this is a nice casual stroll in the meadows and a welcome break from the usual frantic production.
