Review by Richard Lambert, 5 Stars
This big hit show brings together multi-national talent from around the World who are the best in their performance art. What sets them above the rest is how well they engage the audience and create a happy party atmosphere. From the moment you enter the Spiegeltent you’ll be captivated by their love to entertain with an abundance of fun exuding from the stage.
Highlights of the show are Craig Reid with his Hula Hula Hoop act – similar acts done before by others, but never with as much affection and joie de livres. And of course the sheer horror of watching the sword swallowing Heather Holliday who seductively enchants us as she swallows a lot of swords! Equally sensual and captivating is her fire-eating act in the 2nd half.
With a live band on stage and radio mics you might expect to be deafened – not at all. Yes it’s a ballsy show but manages to give a perfect sound mix that’s powerful but not bellowing. Equally the lighting, just perfect for this show. The lights don’t blind the audience nor the performers, they hit the musical nuances, they build and ebb with the emotional energy of the acts, and make just the right impact at just the right moment.
So often, something outside the control of a producer can let a show down or spoil a night out, but here, even the bar staff are efficient and friendly with reasonable drinks prices.
All in all, a perfect night out with your friends – and you could take your mum or dad. It’s adult sass for all to enjoy. A range of ticket prices are available at a fraction of the cost many West End Musical prices!
